Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday Elizabeth Christine

Today you celebrate 41 years of life and it has been an incredible journey. A life full of ups and downs, highs and lows, the good, the bad, and the ugly; and everything in between.

Instead of the usual welcome post. I want to celebrate this very special day with you all. A few months ago, I purchased this blog and domain with the intention of starting on New Year’s Day!

Well, we see how that has worked out. Over the course of the past few months, I have debated whether or not to continue with my whim on starting a blog. But as my birthday drew closer, I started wondering and thinking that not everything needs a clean first start. New years can start on any day and things need time to marinate. I start this blog today as a gift to myself! A gift to myself to document living a simple, single life in my 40s.

A little bit about me.

In this current version of my life, I am a middle school language arts teacher. I love teaching and working with students everyday. I am a lover of books and museums, which I frequent during my summer vacations. But the one thing that I enjoy the most is my solitude. After a hectic school day, nothing settles my soul more than the quietness of my home, a cup of tea, and a good book. This is the life I have curated for myself, at home.

Being a homebody has a certain connotation attached to it. But I assure you dear reader, being a homebody is exciting, relaxing, and stimulating at times. I want this blog to give you hope and comfort that being single, a homebody, and in your 40s is just as exciting as other walks of life.

Thank you for coming along on this journey with me.

Hello and Welcome.
